Kingsham Primary School - The Thrive Approach

Merritts Brook is a THRIVE school. We have 3 THRIVE trained practitioners on site , all of whom have The Thrive Approach® is appropriate for anyone working with children and young people – such as in education (individual schools through to multi-academy trusts (MATs) and Diocese), social care, healthcare, local authorities and community groups, as well as for parents and carers.

Thrives supports children to become emotionally resilient and better placed to engage with life and learning. We have a whole school THRIVE approach to wellbeing  – which is proven to improve attendance, behaviour and attainment.

Based on established neuroscience, attachment theory and child development, the Thrive Approach provides training and an online profiling and action-planning tool to equip adults with the knowledge, insights and resources needed to develop the relationships that help children and young people to flourish and learn.

We screen our pupils to decide who would benefit from THRIVE interventions. All interventions are specific to each child.

” I learned some strategies in Thrive when I was in year 4.I learned how to cope better with my emotions. I am now in year 6 and I still use these strategies to help me. If I am calm , I learn better.”

At MBA we embrace the Thrive approach, incorporating activities that support emotional literacy, resilience, and positive mental health.
